Re: [E-Z-Caps] Filtering wine

Who is to say there aren't more chemicals in cheesecloth
than there is in filter paper? It's usually from someplace like
China, bleached, and questionably stored. I think either way you are
dealing with something that is so neglible it is probably insignificant.

At 04:50 PM 1/13/2010...

Filtering wine

I know you can filter wine using cheesecloth, but was wondering if anyone has
ever used a coffee filter. I am wondering if there would be any chemicals in
the paper filter that would affect the wine. What do you think?

<=====================>
ORGINAL POSTER: tcguya9
<=====...

tasting corks

I was checking with our local wine supply store about corks and a corking
device, when he told me about something called tasting corks. They are a cap
with a cork attached. He said that as long as you don't lay the bottle on its
side, they seal and preserve the wine just like a cork would. ...

using fresh fruit

I just started a batch of cranberry wine. I used the regular recipe, but
substituted about 1/2 cup of real cranberries(for 1/2 cup juice) which were done
in a food processor. I know I will need to strain it out of the finished
product, but thought it might add more cranberry taste. Has anyo...
