Re: Jump Start Fermentation

My dad has told me that transferring some of the beverage from one bottle to another that is just beginning to ferment, will "jump start" the fermentation process. Is this true? And if so, how much should I add per 2-liter and ill it matter if the beverages are different flavors? Your dad...

Re: Cap hissing

The hissing sound is just the CO2 escaping, and it is a normal occurance. Some recipes hiss more than others due to especially active fermentation.

Re: Other size bottles?

So I am currently residing in New Zealand and of course didn't bring any 2L bottles with me on my trip. They only happen to sell 1.25L, 1.5L, and 2.25L bottles. Does anyone know how I could adjust the measurements for the recipes or if the smaller bottles would affect timing? Thanks. Generally, the...

Re: Sediment

That was exactly my approach :D One catch - siphoning into another container seems to completely remove the bubbles, so don't do it if you want sparkling wine. All of my attempts so far have remained cloudy, however :( After two days in the fridge I just go ahead and drink them anyway. Question: ho...

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12

Also try using the search box in the upper right corner (try searching for iced tea) and some more info comes up.

Re: Just not working

"I will not be disclosing, until the end, that the wine was made via E-Z caps because the group thinks that E-Z Caps are bogus. " Funny that you should mention that. You may have noticed that they aren't for sale at many wine shops. I used t have a salesman who tried to get them in the sho...

Re: Newest FAQ (updated 11/24/2011)

When the yeast arrives in bulk it is both kosher and vegan (vegan using the definition that no animal products are added or used in the manufacture- some vegans may consider the yeast itself to be non-vegan based on their own individual interpretation). From the bulk package it is rebottled in the y...
