tasting corks

I was checking with our local wine supply store about corks and a corking
device, when he told me about something called tasting corks. They are a cap
with a cork attached. He said that as long as you don't lay the bottle on its
side, they seal and preserve the wine just like a cork would. They are
relatively inexpensive 25 for $4.00. Has anyone tried these. I'm going to
give them a try. Not too big an investment and possibly a lot easier.
